To see
Ourselves
Outside of the current
Frame
Which time has formed around us
To understand
The impact
Of our actions
The weight
Of our words
And the importance
And yet total lack thereof
Ascribed to
The decisions we make
To find ourselves
Directly in the face
Of a momentous task
An insurmountable challenge
A trial of spirit and endurance
And not
Shrink away
Into the darkest corners of our minds
Retreat
To the safety inside
We persevere
Even when we probably should not
We fight
When peace could easily be obtained
With a few choice words
And empathy
The sun
It rises each day
Because it must
Because it knows nothing else
Because
We have not yet figured out
Why
And how
To stop it
Objects, and the Distance Between Them
