Poetry Reading – “The Unparsed Past (Right Crescent)”

Originally published April 16, 2018, this piece was the second in a three-part series of poems from my first “collection”, the “Crescent Collection”. This piece was a look back along the the curve of change.

“The Unparsed Past (Right Crescent)” – Recorded 3/12/2021 – Auroraboros – Objects, and the Distance Between Them

The original piece is below for reference, and can be found in its entirety at https://objectsanddistance.com/2018/04/16/the-unparsed-past-right-crescent/

Part of a three-part set.

Settling
Ashes of
All I know
All I am
Not to rise
The phoenix slumbers
Dreaming of
Frozen tundra

The birth of
A new star
Destined only
To fall without
Semblance
Streams with vortices
Shallow
Still
Pathways to
Chambers
Emptied their contents
Built to hold
What was not
Built to be
Contained

To rise:
To decline
To decline:
To realign

Shouting matches
With whispering willows woke
Only by
Waning will
Crescent satellite
Still at last
Buried once more
Catalyst only

Lost in
Translation of
Time
Trees with branches bowing to
Future laden with
The unparsed past
