Early morning
April storms
The wind is whistling through
Trees outside
As Earth freezes
Once again
But inside
There is warmth
In hearts beating
In bed sheets strewn
Across bodies
Apart
But longing, calling
Across the aether between
I wake to
A new day
Possibilities unbound
Doors unlocked
Arms and hearts
Opened wide
Welcomed in
You curl yourself
Against my chest
My hands
In your hair
Tracing every inch of
Your face
Your delicate form
You smile
And move ever closer
Until there is
No space between
Where I am
Where you are
Where we want to be
