Your name alone
Can make the hairs on my arm stand on end
Can break through the azure haze which I keep around myself
For protection as well as
To feel
Nothing
And so now I experience
What it is like to know
This world
Without such formidable defenses
Through my own eyes
And not through the field reports of bitter scouts
Your name alone
Evokes images
Memories//stills
Set in motion by the kinetic energy
Of that single word
As it moves through
The space my mind is so very blessed to occupy
Your name alone
Can bring warmth on the coldest nights
Can bring a smile to my weary face after a day of hardship and troubled thoughts
Your name is the key;
You are the door
And the room beyond
Spoken out loud it is an incantation
An invocation of the imperceptible
An invitation for the isolationist in me to do the inconceivable and make immaterial
I am inspired to scale immeasurably immense inclines and interject your identifying information into the minds of every individual I interact with in transit
But there are far too many “I”s in this story already
The only thing on my mind is you
The only words, the only letters, the only structure and form and combination as such capable of any impression worth repeating
Are those that compose the indescribable essence that lies behind that unforgettable three syllable symbol…
Your name alone
Has the potential
To lift a soul to new heights
To simultaneously break down and then rebuild
All allegories, analogies, and altogether anachronistic assumptions
Your name alone
A monolithic monument of masterful masonry marking memories and mile markers meant not to be momentarily malleable but monotonous in manifestation
Your name alone…
Carries with it unbound opportunities and makes the very air through which it passes rejoice…
Your name alone…
Alone…
I can only imagine what might be possible…
Our names together?
