You do not need to smile.
You don’t need to be okay.
You don’t need to tell me that you love me.
I will love you either way.

There is no need to clear
the tears from underneath your eyes,
let them run on down your cheek,
do not keep them inside.
For it does not make you weak to speak
of that which makes you cry,
the sadness, fear, or anger,
never feel compelled to hide.

You are loved when you are lively,
You are loved when you are tired,
It is a joy when you are joyful,
yet your joy is not required.
Whether you are up or you are down

For you to know that you are loved
Is all that is desired.

Though I hope you stay,
