Poetry Reading – “Objects, and the Distance Between Them”

Well, today seemed the day to finally revisit the collaboration that started this all, the namesake of this blog and a catalyst for a massive change in our life.

This piece was one of our first collaborations, and it was so fitting that it would be with perhaps the longest-running friend I’ve ever had, Riley Theodore.

This piece was a definition of intention, a map, and one I have sought to follow ever since.

“Objects, and the Distance Between Them” – Recorded 12/24/2020 – Auroraboros – Objects, and the Distance Between Them

The original piece is below for reference, and can be found in its entirety at https://objectsanddistance.com/2018/02/10/objects-and-the-distance-between-them/.

With each passing day
The light grows
And the shadows fade
Into corners
And objects
Scattered

There is no shame in being alive
There is no reason to fear
Anything
Can happen at any time

Patterns play
And colors move
Far above
While great fires
Burn below
In between
Lies a world of possibility
Ripe with potential
And growing daily

Looking up
I can see
Great voids
Dotted in beams
Of time
And history

What am I?

Note: This piece was written as a collaboration with the visual artist Riley Theodore. The artwork accompanying this post was painted as a visual interpretation of the piece.

Update 3/15/18: The second piece is this collaboration is now available, titled The Process.
