We have seen love,
Time and time again,
Grow tall from / cast shadows on
Soil (de)composed of,
Remnant desire long grown cold,
Ready to be transformed to
Roots / Branches / Leaves
Vessels for
Blossoming symbol of hope for
Something akin to
Ephemeral passion.

We extend on trembling palm
Renewed red rose
-unprotected-
To feel the sting of
Callous love of careless caress,
Cancerous cluelessness…
-unaware / unsympathetic-
Cardiovascular crumbling and falling to dust,
Scattered to the Earth below…

We have seen love
Time and time again,
Wither and die.

We have prayed,
That the same will happen to us,
With frightening results.

We retract in clutched fingers
Crumpled crimson cloth
-unprepared-
To feel the sting of
Self-destruction of selfish self,
Selfless suffering…
-unexpected / unavoidable-
Cardiovascular crumbling and falling to dust,
Collapsing to the Earth below…

We have seen ourselves
Time and time again
Resume form of / Ascend above
Prior rotting frame,
Skin sagging and cracked,
Once more to be restored as
Bones / Muscles / Organs
Vessels for
Blossoming symbol of hope for
Something more than
Ephemeral passion.
