Behind that smile
Those rows of teeth
You hide yourself
That none may see.
Behind that smile
Those open eyes
Your face it laughs
Your soul it cries.
Behind that smiles
That silky skin
The world ends
And you begin.
Objects, and the Distance Between Them
Dreams, thoughts, and experiences expressed through poetry and prose
Behind that smile
Those rows of teeth
You hide yourself
That none may see.
Behind that smile
Those open eyes
Your face it laughs
Your soul it cries.
Behind that smiles
That silky skin
The world ends
And you begin.
Ah! A sensitive poem!

You always end so poignantly and this is no exception. Really love the way those last two lines hit me x

Poignant. We can try to hide so much with our smiles.

I should be thanking you. I was actually inspired, which hasn’t happened in some time.
