For Asha

Fifteen years
Dedicated
To only her
Waiting anxiously
But patiently
All senses finely tuned
Calculated
To perceive
The sound of her approach
Now in retreat
From physical presence
But distant not
Rather
To manifest forevermore
In story and memory
Every second bound
In blissful pairing
At your side
Or on your grateful lap
Never to be apart again
Never to be for want
So long as you are not forgotten

      1. You’re very welcome and I think you did an amazing job! Yes, we may not be able to undo the loss, but we can at least honor the memories of those lost. πŸ™‚

      1. Thankyou so much for your kind words. It feels as though she is still here in the house at times. She is byried in the garden under the bamboo which she loved, with her old mspate Jade who died just over two years ago. Thanks again so much for this beautiful poem xx

    1. You are very welcome. I do not quite know why, but when I read your post I was inspired, and wrote this soon after. I would like to think that perhaps I have come to know Asha as conveyed in your words, and that this is a but a reflection of her spirit as it traverses the path that comes after. Thank you as always for sharing of yourself in your writing. You never know the connections that can be made…

  2. I’m so sorry to read about this. The title made me gasp though. I have a post called This One’s For You, that I reposted lately and it features a picture of a drawing in sand by myself and my 3 children. Our initials together are ASHA. I’ve been considering using it as a business name and have been doodling it in my work’s diary. Coincidence!

    1. I have found your post (https://allanesinclair.wordpress.com/2018/06/08/this-ones-for-you-2/ for and curious readers)… It has evoked a very deep combination of both sadness and understanding. It is such a beautiful memory you have written on, but it is laced with such loss and doubt just the same. I am only relieved in that I empathize with both parties. I have had very difficult relationships with almost everyone who matters to me… my mother particularly. I am still so relieved that our relationship has survived, and am eternally grateful for her patience and unconditional love as the reason for that. I can say though that I believe your son still loves you, and likely thinks of you as often as you do of him, grateful for you just the same as hurt. Life is confusing… and we often make decisions we don’t really understand… Pride can be a difficult burden and barrier. We do the best we can with what we have, but we all make mistakes…

I do not really believe in coincidences. I believe that connections form naturally, often is seemingly random and mysterious ways, but they form nonetheless on some foundation. I am glad that you read this, and that you shared your thoughts and post. I wish you all the best.

      1. The original post was written with no sadness. It was a beautiful memory of time spent with my kids. I reposted it in a different frame of mind but writing it down was my catharsis…as always. I hope you saw the ASHA photo. I would’ve just posted the photo on the comment, and not the whole post, if I knew how to do that. Haha. Thanks for reading it.
