A Western Sky

Clouds hang low over jagged mountain range
Glowing in amber hue
Ritual solar display
Painting bright the sky
To remind
Those below
The full glory and grace
Of the celestial body
‘Round which we move
Ceaselessly
Tirelessly
Only broken by
False swan song descent
Not of deceit
Rather
To deliberately emphasize
Perhaps
What it really means
To say goodbye
Without expectations
Of finality
Finding comfort in
Apparent ambiguity
Knowing that appearance
And deceit
Are often one in the same
And truth is found
In careful observation
Marking the passage of time
To reveal
Inherent patterns
The language of
Natural progression
Order
Consistency within chaos
Every lesson
Captured
For those with patience
Within
A western sky
