I have heard them say
You should know your place
You should know
What you are “for”
Fools, every one
For they do not know
Do not realize
That there is not such simple means
For defining what is inherent within
We all are born
Wet and alone
Searching soon for
Legs on which to stand
Words with which to speak
Function does not often define
Intent
The sun does not rise
That we may see
Birds do not sing
That we may be inspired
And the grass does not grow
That we may trim it down
Your body is yours
And you will do with as you will
Do not let anyone ever tell you
What you are “for”
The only thing I know for certain
Is that we are meant to seek
Such definitions
For ourselves
Bravo!
