Under Setting Sun (Three-Day Quote Challenge v2, Day Three)

“We all need to scream and shout at the universe; it creates a shift in energy.”
Puzzles of the Soul

Under setting sun
Leaves curl into themselves
And those who love the light seek shelter
Closing their eyes for rest
Just as those with eyes for the darkness awaken.

Whether lit by stars and moon
Or guided by experience
Motion does not cease
Nor does stillness;
What is always will be.

You are free
Granted will to behave
As you choose
And at times this is a beautiful gift
At others, a curse and crux.

Just as the stars are free to break from gravity’s spiral at any time, careening towards their closest colleagues,
So too are you free to depart your ways
Even if just for a brief interval,
To shed your coat and roll in the dirt,
To raise your face towards the heavens above and emit from your mouth the rage of a thousand contained days.

So shake your fist at all that is;
Gnash your teeth
Sharpen your claws
Polish your shell;
There is nothing can stop you and if it tries you will eat it alive.

Some days, you may need to retreat as well
To curl up under canopies
To lick your wounds and regain strength;
There is no shame in self-care,
No judgement passed by those who know.

Find your place and hold your ground,
For you belong
So long as you want to
There is always a home for you
Under setting sun.

Three-Day Quote Challenge

This is my final post in the three-day quote challenge by writingdreamwords of the blog Dream Words. I have enjoyed the experience of accepting the challenge, and once again want to thank my challenger for thinking of me and presenting me the opportunity to think outside of my norms.

Rules

  1. Thank the person who nominated you
  2. Post a quote for three days
  3. Nominate three new bloggers each day

Nominees

Once again, I am going to nominate everyone and anyone that would like to participate. I find the act of direct nomination can be stressful, presumptuous, or otherwise unwanted, and would rather the opportunity be open to anyone who would embrace it and appreciate the value of the experience.

    1. Thank you very much, both for the affirmative words as well as for the challenge itself. I am so grateful for you and the community, and for all of the opportunities that are presented to learn and grow. I hope you have a wonderful day.

    1. Thank you; I really appreciate the comment.

      On an unrelated note, you may want to check your account information. Your URL is currently listed as adnama72.wordpress.com, which errors out… I just wanted to let you know; it is easy to miss or not be aware of.
