This is Your Day

Oh, morning riser; driver of the dawn!
Let your laughter fill the air you breathe,
Let it spill out from the depths of your chest, from the very pit of your very soul!
All the others may stare and wonder;

“What will they think?”

At least they are doing so!

You are not idle, in mind or body.
You will retreat not from comfort into tiresome day, but rather charge; vanguard to vanquish the monsters of mediocrity.

Step from vessel to kiss the very air that flows so benevolently over your shoulders to fall effortlessly around your chest and upon your gracious frame.
Fist in the air, extended toward the precious sun in the endless sky, to show reverence and appreciation for the warmth that fills the air falling ever still.

Blanket ambition wraps tight as, steps forward now behind, embark and embrace;
This is your day.

  3. While everything of yours that I’ve read so far is brilliant, I find I’m a little partial to this one. I don’t know if it is the rendering, or the idea – both, most likely. When you feel so powerfully about something it will certainly flow into the words delivered. It’s beautiful. 🙂 Thank you for sharing this with the world!

    1. I am so glad that you and the other commentors enjoyed this. I was hesitant to post it… It is very unlike the rest of my writing, and speaks from a different place than I normally come from. It makes me happy that the language made it through.
