Could love really mean
Being able to extend our selves emotionally
Into the reality of others?– Emergingfromthedarknight – When Pain and Love are Connected
I have listened
To so many stories of love
Lost and irretrievable
It would seem there is something
In my countenance
That elicits
An unobstructed view into
Hearts in healing
Now you have asked
The nature of love
And the dynamic it represents
Love is trust
Love is acceptance
Love is vulnerability
Love is a commitment
To maintaining balance
Love is roots
Tangled
Drawing from
One another
Love is knowing
Those roots may very well be ripped away
Comprehending and accepting
The pain that comes with
The possibility of
Separation
Love is putting down roots anyway
Love is kissing your wounds and using the stumps of prior entanglements
To try again
This is the last of my three-day quote challenge posts as initiated by Grateful Single Mom of the blog Grateful Single Moms.
As before, my challenge is open to all readers. Find a quote that inspires you. Write what is inspired. Share said writing and somehow notify me that you have done so.
Interesting idea…I have a lot to learn about love… Opening up and being vulnerable to another person….

Love these lines”Love is roots
Tangled
Drawing from
One another”.You have beautifully defined love. As a sustenance for dependent souls.

I had to reblog it as it spoke to me so deeply. What is the point of holding back just so we wont be hurt? That said when red flags appear in the next one sometimes it may be better not to give our hearts so quickly. its a conundrum. I am pleased to have connected with you here.

Thank you! And that is a very good point. I suppose to carry forward the same analogy, you also develop better sense in your roots to feel for danger/toxicity in new soil… And are able to withdraw quicker and less painfully.

True I have always lept into relationships instead of taking my time to learn how much to trust. Hurt and pain teach us these lessons too.
