“Are You Looking for Me?”

I don’t mean to be pushy
I don’t want to be rude
I can take a hint
But can you get a clue?
I really like you…
From your hair to your shoes
From your reds to your blues
From your lips to your hips
From your beats to your tunes

There is nothing I would not do
A dinner, just for two
We could talk all night
Or just ’til we’re through

I don’t quite know what to do…

You see…
We’re so alike in that
We look down when we speak
We’re soft but not weak
We’ve been hurt but not broken
And our trust isn’t cheap
We hold out hope but aren’t hopeful
We’re not cautious but meek
Not quite waiting for someone
But waiting to see…

“Are you looking for me?”

  1. I love this it’s so sweet
It almost like Dr. Seuss or Shell Silverstein Poetry for kids, but this poem written for grownups, for the narrator and those who are lik him/her. Well done 🙂
